Health and You
Personal Health is crucial in being able to live a great life. We at Invigorated Solutions are able to provide many resources of information to help you have and long and invigorating life. As research and studies continue to change on a regular basis and keep us wondering if something was good for us last week, how can it be bad for us this week?
We are here to provide timeless and consistent information. The key to heathy living is consistency and balance. At the end of the day, we know what is bad for us (smoking, drugs, too much fat) and what is good for us (water, calcium, fresh air, exercise). What we will provide is time tested tools and wisdom for keeping your health in check. We will share information on increasing your longevity and living a happier and healthier life. In this day and age of accelerated disease, one of the things we try to support is being able to keep a healthy balance in your life in dealing with emotions, stressors and other outside influences that assist in disease. We all know that the leading cause of death is heart disease, and that lowering fat intake can minimize the risk. But are you aware that your emotional state can also play a big part in disease?
According to the American Heart Association, recent studies have offered promising results about the impact of meditation in reducing blood pressure. A 2012 study showed a group with heart disease who practiced Transcendental Meditation regularly were 48 percent less likely to have a heart attack or stroke or die compared with those who attended a health education class over more than five years.
Taking time for ourselves and getting outside of our heads and the external stressors is one of the greatest deterrents for disease. I am a believer that disease is not so much genetic but the emotions that cause the disease are. We tend to carry on many of the lifestyles that we have grown up with and that our parents had, whether it is stress, codependency or internalizing. These are all behaviors that can cause the release the stress hormone cortisol. Cortisol is what is released every time our body kicks in to the fight or flight response. It sends a surge of adrenaline throughout our body. When we live in a constant state of stress, our body becomes greatly affected. We are truly living in a low state of trauma around the clock.
Give yourself the gift of taking 20 to 30 minutes per day to still your mind. Not looking at your phone, watching TV or reading, just being. We are human BEINGS not human DOINGS. We are so accustomed to busyness and constantly being on the go that we never allow ourselves to be still. Take some time, get out in nature, turn off your mind and breath.
